After sitting on their latest recordings for the best part of 2010, Liverpool acoustic outfit Misery Guts are finally ready to release their new EP, More Human Than Human, on Electric Sheep Records.Having grown in stature over the last couple of years, this release sees the band build on their already impressive achievements including a string of high profile supports, an introduction from BBC 6music’s Tom Robinson, and glowing reviews from Liverpool’s music press and beyond.
From playing open mic nights across Liverpool to opening slots with The Fall, John and Michael Head, and Noah and the Whale, Misery Guts have now built a full band around the core of an intricate guitar/vocal duo. More Human Than Human is the sound of Misery Guts developing as a band and truly hitting their stride.
The EP goes on release Monday 17/05/10 but advance copies will be available on the launch night at The Kazimier on Friday 07/05/10 for those who just can't wait. Joining Misery Guts that night will be Cherry Ghost, who will be showcasing tracks from their new album, as well as up and coming Wirral based band, By The Sea.
