Greatly enjoyed Mike Badger's Reclaimed World at the Vitreum, as did many others, he sold several works too.
You can
hear my interview podcast with Mike and Mick Gill the art director. Ends 12 Feb, you need to mke appt if you want see the show.

As ever the works of local printmakers such as Emma Gregory, Pete Clarke and Emily Johns are excellent, at the Cornerstone '5' runs until 19 Feb. Plus another nice little show in the back room at Ye Cracke on the theme of Northern Songs runs until 15 March

Bluecoat Display Centre 'Birds of a Feather' features just 2 artists who share studios in Bristol - one embroiders the other does ceramics, both works have lots of character - they remind us of 'creature comforts'.

Taking its inspiration from
Paul Gilroy?'s seminal book The Black Atlantic: Modernity and Double Consciousness(1993), the exhibition is the first to trace in depth the impact of different black cultures from around the Atlantic on art from the early twentieth century to today. Exhibition details

Exhibition: 30 January – 28 March 2010
This multi-media installation by Sonia Boyce originated from a residency at Meriton School for Young Parents in Bristol, where it was shown at Spike October 2009. The exhibition explores universal ideas around the concept of care – the emotion we invest in others and in the making of works of art. In Bristol, Boyce produced a series of artworks from classroom discussions, which address fragmentary experience of longing, and raise questions about due care and contemporary life.

As part of Liverpool’s city-wide Black Atlantic Season, FACT presents internationally-profiled sound artists Edward George and Anna Piva's (Flow Motion) ongoing project Promised Lands. Told through songs and texts gathered from a multicultural archive, Promised Lands is a multi-media sound art performance that explores historical and contemporary accounts of migration.
