acoustic extraHello everyone, welcome to the Liverpool Acoustic eXtra Spotlight for April 2011. Hope you’re all well and enjoying this wonderful sunshine we‘re having. First off on behalf of Stuart Todd and myself we would like to thank everyone who came to last month’s Liverpool Acoustic Extra opening night gig. For those who were there I’m sure you’ll agree it was a great night of live music. For those of you who missed it, fear not, because in the show notes below there is a video you can watch from the night.

So, this month we have three fantastic artists who will be performing at the View Two Gallery on Mathew Street on Friday 8th April. They are Carly Bryant, Matt Swift and Mark Byrne. You can pre-order your tickets at wegottickets.com/liverpoolacoustic the tickets are £4 if you book in advance or £5 if you purchase tickets on the door. Doors open 8pm with the first act taking to the stage at 8:30pm.

Carly Bryant is from Brighton and we’re looking forward to her performing at the View Two on the 8th April. The last 12 months have been busy for Carly, which have seen her placed on itunes essential albums, turn down two label offers, join forces with a booking agent and promoters, collaborate with songwriters from Asia for international releases and gig across Europe both solo and with her band in venues ranging in capacity from 30 to 3000.You can check Carly at her website which is carlybryant.co.uk where you can buy her album ‘A Pocket Full Of Rye’.

MATT SWIFT

Lancashire’s self styled troubadour Matt Swift writes about his experiences of life, love, loss and the state of the world. Matt is based in Skelmersdale and Matt performs regularly on the Liverpool and Skelmersdale live circuits. Matt has played at several Liverpool venues including the Cavern Club, View 2 Gallery, 3345 Parr Street and many other venues across the region. mark byrneMARK BYRNE
Mark Byrne is a Liverpool musician and songwriter. Mark has worked live and in the studio with Steve Roberts, Charnock and Russel, Paul Wilkes, TJ and Murphy and more recently The John O’Connell Band. Mark has had the pleasure of guesting at festivals in Cambridge, Whitby and Saddleworth to name but a few. He is inspired by different styles of music including folk, country, mainstream and jazz, culminating in an accessible and thought provoking collection of original songs.

leonOn Friday 22nd April Leon Rosselson will be performing a set as part of the Working Class Life and Music Festival at Sefton Park Palm House. The night is also in association with Liverpool Acoustic Live and it promises to be an absolute brilliant night of live music which have support from Rich Man‘s Ruin.

This is virtually sold out this show as there is only one ticket left at wegottickets. Graham played one of Leon’s songs in the last Liverpool Acoustic Spotlight and now I’m gonna play you a track to finish off this show.
This track is called Palaces of Gold and it was written in the 1970s and is taken from his CD entitled Rosselsongs. leonrosselson.co.uk
