Social Media for Women 2013

Logo-Header3Ten social media experts will be sharing their knowledge with a new generation of women entrepreneurs at a conference later this year.

Lancashire businesses DigiEnable and Jane's Social Media have teamed up to empower female businesses across the North West by setting up the county's first women-led social media conference.

'Social Media for Women 2013' conference takes place on November 26 at Preston's Gujarat Hindu Centre.

A panel of women social media gurus will share their tricks of the trade, how to avoid business pitfalls and future trends with more than 100 women attendees geting their chance to attend three of nine workshops such as 'Get LinkedIn or get left out', 'Managing your social media in ten mins' and 'You're up to date – what's the next big thing?'.

There will be networking opportunities and the chance to get some one-to-one time with a social media expert after theconference.

Liz Hardwick, Partner at DigiEnable, said:

"Businesses ignore social media at their peril. Having an online presence is no longer simply an alternative business choice, but is essential to the growth and sustainability of businesses of all sizes. With more women than ever starting their own businesses, many are turning to social media as a quicker and cheaper marketing alternative. However many forget the social part of social media and find themselves wasting time and energy talking into an unresponsive abyss.

The 'Social Media for Women 2013' conference is all about giving women the social media skills they need to use in their everyday business life. This is a golden opportunity to showcase some fantastic female speakers talking about a subject – social media – that is overwhelmingly dominated by men.

The workshops have been designed to accommodate all levels of ability, including information for those who have yet to start social media accounts, through to the more savvy users who want to find out what the next big platform will be. The conference is open to both women and men but it is hoped that the all-female line up will encourage more women to attend.

DigiEnable is a Digital Training Company based in Lancashire, working with businesses and organisations to develop the quality of their online presence.

The 'Social Media for Women 2013' conference runs between 9.30am and 4pm.

Tickets, which cost from £45 and include lunch and refreshments, are bookable online at www.socialmediaforwomen.co.uk.
