Accessibility is an artist residency located on the campus of Cleveland State Community College in East Tennessee. During the last two weeks of October, selected artists are invited to create new works of art that deal primarily with the use of new media and technology. Cleveland is located 30 minutes from Chattanooga, 2 hours from Atlanta and Nashville and 90 minutes from Knoxville. Chattanooga was recently recognized as “Gig City”, being the first city to offer the fastest internet in the Western Hemisphere at 1 gig per second. The residency will also include weekly films, lectures, demonstrations and discussions involving the community, artists, students, and information technologists in a dialogue that brings awareness to the connections between technology, art and culture.
