Liverpool Art Prize nominations closed - over 80 nominations and by the way last years winner ~Imogen Stidworthy is on the shortlist of 4 along with another Liverpool artist, Paul Rooney for the Northern Art Prize. An exhibition of their work, including film, photography, drawing, performance and installation, will take place at Leeds Art Gallery from 21 November 2008 until 1 February 2009. The winner will be announced on 15 January 2009.

Superlambananas Finished! They are being loaded onto trucks and taken away - they will be back on display on St Georges Plateau on the 8 and 9 September prior to being auctioned for charity at St Georges Hall on the 9 September. Pre Auction welcome drinks and canapés 6.30-7.15pm - Auction 7.15-10.30pm

This weeks show covers; Ian reviews Changeover at Site 68 Hope Street by Rebecca Key, Robin Woolston at Curve Gallery Victoria Street with an interesting exhibition about consumerism.
The John Moores University degree show is still on at various venues around Slater Street, with a fresh show probably given a bit more freedom by the spaces in which they are presented.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the Korea based Cho Theatre will be at the Edge Hill Pavillion part of Metal, with performances of the Angel and the Wood Cutter.
On the Wirral the Lady Lever Gallery presents Masterpieces, watercolours and drawings - An exhibition witch traces the history of the William Hesketh Collection, with work by Turner, Burn Jones etc.
Next WeekAt the Contemporary Urban Centre is an exhibition by 40 artists including some celebrities. They present Go Pink 08, to raise awareness of Cancer, it continues until the 1st JulyAnd finally the Ceri Hand Gallery opens, situated on Cotton Street it promises to be a great addition to the Liverpool art scene. The inaugural show is a group show of 10 artists work and continues until the 4th July.
