This year Sound City are partnering with the Liverpool International Festival of Business to bring you Sound City Digital.

This exciting event will take place on Thursday 17th July at Constellations, Baltic Triangle, Liverpool.

The Ecosystem will bring together partners from health and social care, industry, academia and patient organisations to focus on improving health across the North West Coast at the same time as generating economic benefits for the region, through the uptake and deployment of connected health solutions. 

The University of Central Lancashire in Preston is to hold a two day Unconference for Audacity enthausiasts this July.  

If you haven't heard of Audacity then where have you been living as this Open Source audio manipulatipon software is the mainstay of many an audiophiles software arsenal.  The Audacity Unconference 2014 is an event for all Audacity users including teachers, musicians, and researchers

Digital Arts Commission - 30 Years Of...

30 Years Of… is a commission, which is designed to be delivered by a digital arts organisation with a specific focus of engaging with ex-miners, their families and the communities where pits once were.

As part of this commission we are looking for a digital arts organisation to utilise modern technology to engage participants’ (former miners and their families) in the process of capturing their own, their communities and the towns heritage.

So what is the future of Gaming?

Fact Liverpool has a workshop next week looking at the Future of Gaming which hopes to answer the questions of "Where is the gaming industry headed and what are the possibilities for games to be applied and utilised in ways unimagined?"

Open Playground - the name of the session sets the scene for the future of new media and gaming, starting with the next 3-5 years. Inspired by three sets of provocations delivered by leading figures in the Gaming and New Media sectors, participants will be inspired to take an imaginative journey to a near future, desired futures, future visions, new forms of technologies, as well as the status quo, including the barriers participants face in achieving expectations and implementing envisaged technologies.
