Alun Parry launches Woody Guthrie Folk Club
Liverpool is to have it's own Woody Guthrie folk club launching at the end of February.
Woody, a famous American singer-songwriter and folk musician inspired some of the greatest folk singers in our time most famously Bob Dylan.
'I want it to be the place to go for folk music that is fun, exciting, a bit dangerous, and that will make you sit up and take notice.' Alun Parry
The launch night is on Thursday 25th February at the Ship and Mitre on Dale Street, Liverpool

The Road
, set in post apocalyptic America stars Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron and is an adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s Pulitzer winning novel. It's the story of an unnamed man and his son as they walk through the dark wasteland that once was and their struggle for survival against all odds including the odd cannibal or two.
It sounds thoroughly depressing, perfect after a week of heavy snow and bleakness.
