Bonzo rides again
Diabolical mayhem from the largest number of Bonzos still playing together anywhere on the surface of the earth. The boys bring their show to Live Lounge @ Baby Blue on Sunday 18th October. Born in a distant art school past somewhere in the sixties, Three Bonzos and a Piano unleash their Bonzo Dog classics with energetic zip and palaver... Ali Baba’s Camel, Hunting Tigers Out In India, Alley-Oop, Trouser Press, Speedy Gonzales, Monster Mash, Tent, Can Blue Men Sing The Whites? and many, many more.
After originally breaking up in 1969, the Bonzos reformed for a series of London shows and a UK tour between 2006 and 2008. Viv Stanshall, their front man, had died in a house fire in 1995, and was replaced by guest appearances of artists including Ade Edmondson, Stephen Fry. Paul Merton and Phil Jupitus.
A tour planned for late 2008 was cancelled when the band split yet again. As each went their own way, Rodney, Roger and Sam decided to get together with Dave to continue the fun.
Their first gig in Brighton was sold out and 3 more monthly gigs at the venue were immediately added. This 4 month residency has now ended so that the boys can gird their loins in readiness for the onslaught of 2009 and a UK tour. Three Bonzos and a Piano aim to dig out all the old songs from the Bonzos’ back catalogue, including songs that have not previously been performed, as well as brand new songs, including: I’m going to bring a watermelon to my girl tonight, Shirt, Mr Slater’s Parrot, The Leg, Ginger Geezer, Jollity Farm and many more.

The Road
Coming up at FACT, Liverpool this weekend.
The Road
, set in post apocalyptic America stars Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron and is an adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s Pulitzer winning novel. It's the story of an unnamed man and his son as they walk through the dark wasteland that once was and their struggle for survival against all odds including the odd cannibal or two.
It sounds thoroughly depressing, perfect after a week of heavy snow and bleakness.
