You like science right and you like beer well you'll love this month's SciBar as they discuss the University of Liverpool’s contribution to the Large Hadron Collider and it's latest results.

Dr Barry King from the Department of Physics will present the results on searches for new physics, including Higgs, SuperSymmetry and Extra Dimensions, using data collected with the ATLAS experiment.

The University’s Particle Physics Group has worked on the construction of ATLAS and LHCb – two of the four detectors at the LHC – working closely with engineers and scientists from around the world. Liverpool’s contribution to these detectors was delivered using the Liverpool Semiconductor Detector Centre and Physics Workshops which are central to the Particle Physics Programme.

Date: Tuesday 4th September at 7:30pm

Venue: Ship and Mitre

The audience are welcome to give their own opinions and ask questions.  Remember there's no such thing as a silly question at SciBar!
