The Piazza Markets return - starting June
How and sell your wares at the Piazza Art Markets!
They’re looking for a wide mix of original arts and crafts to create a colourful outdoor market that’s bursting full of creativity! Demonstrations are welcome - why not get creative during the event and invite browsers to take part? The events will be held on the outdoor Piazza at the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral on the 3rd Sunday of each month.
When?
11am - 4pm on the 3rd Sunday of the month June to September inclusive.
Dates: 21st June, 19th July, 16th August, 20th September 2009
Liverpooll Shakespeare Festival Has a Blog
Here’s another interesting cultural blog for you to follow. ‘It Will Be Fine’ - A closer look at The Liverpool Shakespeare Festival.
This year they are presenting ‘Hamlet’ by William Shakespeare in the magnificent concert hall at St George’s Hall from 11-23 August 2009, and ‘Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead’ at NOVAS CUC from 1-13 September 2009. Both plays look at the same events from two quite different perspectives.

Display of small part of collection of Netsuke in the World Museum Liverpool. Beautifully and intricately carved objects from Japan donated to WML. Will be changed on a regular basis.
Rolf Harris was in good form as he opened the excellent exhibition of prints from Curwen gallery at the Cornerstone. Runs to 4 September 09. We will be bringing you more of this later in the week.
Ian missed the Lord Mayor's pageant (blame the foul weather) but saw a few after-events around town. Enjoyed some of Bluecoat's Drawing Weekend. Also joined in Draw the Line at Django's Riff on Thursday - next one at Mello Mello on Sat 20 Jun in the afternoon
Also another New Village Fete at Heebie Jeebies a bit quieter than last time but still good.

OPENS - Bernie Lubell - A Theory of Entanglement
FRIDAY 19 June 2009 at FACTFACT will unveil a major new commission by Lubell and bring together a series of his low-tech, lo-fi sculptures, powered entirely by the audience. Visitors will become part of the exhibition as they work together to animate the large-scale wooden mechanisms, creating a theatre for themselves and one another. Exhibition details
